Sea-buckthorn also known as “The Lemon of the North” – is a Nordic wild-growing fruit shrub, which have been used in culinary contexts because of the medical and nutritional qualities, in several hundred years. The berries are bursting with vital vitamins and healthy omega 3,6,7 & 9 fatty acids.
We have added sea-buckthorn, as research shows that sea-buckthorn improves the intestinal tract activity and increases the metabolism. Furthermore, sea-buckthorn is naturally rich in vitamin C which contributes to a normal energy metabolism, and the normal functions of the immune system. One berry from the sea-buckthorn contains as many C vitamins as one whole orange (63mg C-vitamin per 100 g), since sea-buckthorn contains a surprising 695mg C-vitamin per 100g. The recommended daily consumption of vitamin C for an adult is 75 mg.
